TMC Flat Track Rules
All officials, competitors, crew members, and spectators must wear a helmet
when riding a motorcycle or any other competition vehicle at any time in the
motor sports park.
Functional front Brakes are not allowed on bikes that are running in flat
track classes.
With the exception of officials and the maintenance crew, riding clockwise
on the track at any time, during practice or a race is strictly prohibited.
Competitors are allowed 2 minutes when called to the starting line.
The starting line up shall not exceed 8 competitors wide, and no more than
12 competitors will be allowed in a heat or final.
Heat race line up will be in order of arrival at the starting line.
Final race line up will be in order of placement in heat(s). When called from
the staging gate, competitors are to stop 30 feet before the starting line. One
by one, based upon his/her placement in the heat race, the flag man will
direct each competitor to proceed to the starting line, to the location of their
choosing.
If a competitor stalls or falls and immediately removes him/her self and his/
her bike from the track, the race will not be stopped.
If a competitor stalls, falls, or obstructs the track within the first lap of a
heat
or final and is not able to immediately remove him/her self and his/her bike
from the track, the race will be re-started with that competitor going to the
back if he/she is able to race.
If a competitor stalls, falls, or obstructs the track within the second or
subsequent lap of a heat or final and is not able to immediately remove him/
her self and his/her bike from the track, the race will be stopped and will
resume from that lap on, after the track is cleared (the race will not continue
under yellow flags). If able to race, the fallen competitor will re-start at the
back.
If a competitor falls, crashes, or obstructs the track (and doesn't get up and
off of the track, the referee/flag man may call the heat or final race if at
least
60% of the laps have been run.
A competitor who rides in a way that endangers officials, other competitors,
or the public will be subject to immediate disqualification from the meet by
the referee.
